I don't come from a family of pranksters or practical jokers.
Our jokes are all impractical. ba dum tss
That is, we're not humorless - we read comics, told Dad jokes before they were Dad jokes, enjoy puns - more mental/word play sorts of things than physical shenanigans.
Is that nature or nurture? Why do some folks become pranksters?
Anyway, there was one year for April Fools' Day, my Dad replaced our Raisin Bran with cut up paper bag!1 He included some raisins, and then, thinking the box seemed too light, put in a few washers or nails - some sort of metal bits to give an authentic feeling heft.
BUT! It turned out the joke was on him - we only had certain days that were dry cereal breakfast days, and that year April Fools' Day was not one of them. So we just got a surprise the next cereal day.
What about you? Are your family and/or friends pranksters? Have any good April Fools' Day stories?

At least the cereal still met the RDA of iron.
